So, will a Silo Sp neck fit on an SUB body? My Silo body is pretty beat, and eventually its gonna get too dinged up...the neck is still great...I love the textured finish on the SUB, and I am sure doing a neck swap is easier than stripping/repainting the body.

So, will it work?

the only thing is that the silo body has contours that makke it really comfy, the sub has no contours, some people dont mind but for some reason I need to contours so make sure you play one first -

How dinged up is it? I mean, look at a guy like Stevie Ray Vaughn or EVH. For years, those guys played with guitars that are beat to hell. Steve Vai's number one guitar is pretty beat up. What's the big deal? Besides, I don't think it would fit, but I don't know for sure.

Also bear in mind that the body wood is different so you will hear the difference. And no silent circuit/shielding... I would repaint the body if i where you, or just leave it the way it is. :)

thanks for the responses...i am considering leaving it as well. Repainting a guitar sounds like a huge task, anyway- although I really love EB's dark teal color and some of those sparkly discontinued colors...grrr..

Having both a Silo Spec and a SUB1, I would agree 100% with the comment about the contours on the SS over the SUB1. I would definitely restore the SS before I would consider using the neck on a SUB1 body.

Not to mention, the Sub1 neck is really very smoothe..... I can't really feel the paint. I'd say just have two guitars! Maybe have your silo special custom painted?

Painting a guitar really doesn't have to be that big of a chore. Project Guitar :: Finishing and Refinishing Tips This is a very good site that shows you alot of different ideas.
Unless you already have a Sub or can find a used one cheap I wouldn't recomend the neck idea...I mean buying a brand new guitar only to tear it apart? But I also like crazy combos like that so if you do it post some pics!

ok, gotcha...there is a pic of my silo in almost new condition at my site, below- also very small in my avatar...

Wow thats an awsome looking silo. The blue just glows! I think you should just keep it how it is. As long as it doesn't affect the playing.
Well good luck!
