Hi Guys,
I just found out that my Ebay purchased Silo Special (on the way) is black sparkle and not black. It has hardtail with matching headstock, built in 2001.

I have few questions:

1. Are the pickups and other configurations from 2001 Silo special same as 2006 Silo Special?

2. Do sparkle EBMM's go higher on ebay or less? I am asking for resale value on sparkle guitar I guess.

3. Does any have picture of Silo Special in black sparkle?

Thanks, David

1. Pretty sure 2001 pickups are same as current, and that the bucker is a DiMarzio Virtual PAF.

2. They seem priced around the same on the average.

Whilst we're discussing Silo special pick ups .... a question in the same vein does anyone know if the humbucker from a 98 silo special is the same model as fitted now? I took mine off and replaced it with a seymour duncan as it sounded a bit too bright (for me) but now Im thinking of putting it back and giving it another go.

Not positive on the exact year of the switch, but my understanding is that older models used a DiMarzio PAF Pro.

THose of you who own Black Sparkle, did you want the sparkle or did the sparkle happend to be on the guitar you picked up???

I mean they look good on the pics above but I just don't know how they will look in person.

I guess I will find out this Thursday. I just wish mine had Tremolo...but I am not complaining, especially at the price I got it for.
