Bruce,
Thanks for the listen, I like it. I wouldn't have guessed that you were playing through the Laney, I wasn't expecting that tone.

Hi Fred,

Out of the box these LC50's are fizzy and harsh. Through the magic of tubes and speakers, and of course a great ax, they can sound quite nice. Played through a GH50 while I was there, and was really impressed with its tonal pallet, but not as creamy as my combo.

My main amp is Laney GH50L and it sounds awesome. And it's actually really really cheap... I've used amps that cost 3 times as much, but I've never been as satisfied as with my Laney.

Ivan, man, I was pretty blown away by the GH50. I'm not crazy about V30's but that's what the Marshall cab was loaded with, and it was bitchin'. The GH is mostly known for high gain, fast attack, etc. but it was surprisingly easy to dial all sorts of tones. We jammed on some funk, blues, metal and some southern rock, and the thing could cover it all. It may well be my next amp.

I'd be remiss to not acknowledge "ole blue's" ability to get to a wide variety of tones through just about any decent amp, though. My favorite and most versatile guitar, ever.

Alright, so my expectations were probably on target, but that being said, I really liked your tone. Whatever the combination is it's working for you, nice stuff. And quit apologizing for the chops, there's no need to, it sounds like you've got great feel.

Are you going to post a link once it has the drum track?

thanks,
fred

Will be happy to. Curious to see what Ken, the drummer, brings. The cat can play. Kind of odd dropping drums in last, but he's a busy guy and this is all piecemeal work. Should be interesting. There's also 10 more tunes to follow this one on this one project. More lined up. Should be a busy winter.

On my chops, well, ya know, it's pretty dang intimidating being around some of the players who hang here .

Taylor just sent a remix, I've edited SoundClick file.

Spudman, I wish you would. I don't know how others feel about it but I really enjoy listening to what folks here are doing with their balls - hearing tonal possibilities and such, and hearing their style is fun too.
