Howdy Ho guys,

I am working on finally being able to afford my own first EBMM guitar. I can't wait. However, I was was wondering...could someone do a comparison between the JP(either 6 or 7) and the Silhouette (preferably HSH)? Nowhere near enough to me that I can get to has both in stock so that I may try them. I was wondering the differences and opinions of the neck feel and how it plays specifically, and the tone differences. Also any other things anyone has to add. This would be a hugeeee help. Thanks!

Pittman, well if you wanted to take a trip to Pete Dubaldos in Conn, it's only and hour and a half from me in Marlborough.

I use to have both of those guitars, but alas I sold them.

The JP has a really flat wide neck. The Silo's neck is for lack of a better way to say it Strat'ish. The Silo has great pickup combinations in my opinion.

See if you wanted to try an Axis Sport, 20th Silo, Albert Lee, Luke or Silo Special I have all of these.

Using the MM locator @ http://www.ernieball.com/mmonline/dealers/

Thanx guys, but Pittman lives like 30 minutes from me if that. Most people don't use the locator enough. Though the locator use to show the stuff @ GC and now it doesn't, which is too bad. I found my AL through that. :)

If you get to try them, go with the one with the neck you like the best. You can always change pickups ;)

USA, for now, but a Brit at heart
Both are GREAT guitars!

Its all about the neck, man. Two very different shapes.

Pick the one that works for you, pp:) is right, you can always change pickups, although I doubt you will, cause they are all great combos..

I love the Silo, but I don't play it cause the neck is wrong for me. Same with the Axis.

I stick with my JP and my Luke. I love the AL also, but i don't have one, again cause I don't like the neck for my size hands and the way I play.

The sound is also extremely different, although both are very versatile.
Think about what sort of sound you're looking for. If it's twang, I'd go for the silo, although my JP can cover it. For heavy metal, the JP is rock solid, although the silo can hold it's own as well.
But, as many people have said, they are both awesome guitars and you can't go wrong.
