Anyone running 10s on their Silo Special? Will I ruin the nut at the headstock if I put 10s on it? Thanks.

Don't own a Silo Special, but have 10-46 or 10-49 on all my Balls. Had no problems with the nut, you'll be fine.

Cool, you think it is the same for an Axis SS? They pretty much have the same neck (almost, same frets anyway). I think 10s would really have a lot more tone.........when I was away from the geetar for 6 weeks, fingertips needed some time to harden again, 9s seemed tough at first. Practicing every day, 9s feel like 8s right now.

re: from 9s to 10s, very little change in tone. Of course, find out what suits you best, and who knows maybe that will be classic 12s in pure nickel with a wound G string! But going up one gauge is not that big a difference and you are the only person who will notice it. The best tone also comes from better playing. For a lot of people, that means lighter gauges.

re: Fingertips - yes, me too!
