Single buzzing fret on E string

Hi Folks,


Wanted to get some input on a problem I recently started having with my SR4.
Everything sounds/plays great... with the exception of the 6th fret on the E string.
That A# buzzes like mad.
If I fret the A below or the B above, the note is completely clean.
The buzz is happening between the nut and the 6th fret.
I can get rid of the buzz by simultaneously fretting the A below... so it appears to be happening at the 5th fret.

Otherwise, the bass plays/sounds fantastic.
FWIW, I had the bass out just a couple of days ago... and didn't notice this problem.

I've experienced this before but on the D string while fretting at the 11th. Turned out to be the string.

It could be the string, or it could be your action, try loosening your truss rod maybe
