OK I'm on the road with a single H bongo and a little 1-12 mark bass

I am in sonic heaven.....the Mark Bass Flat Everything

The bass is set treble off.....mid a quarter of the way on and the bass flat....

sort of dead roundwounds....

Ten years ago I would never have thought this was heaven.....

Sounds like fret-less faker tone to me and that is what I like!

Sometimes less is more! (I'm talkin' 'bout EQ tone controls)

it's amazing how our tone can change from decade to decade, Last week I was Listening too some cuts from when I played Gilley's and my tone wasn't that good I'm sure I thought it was then though.

Yes.

Yes, you do.

Gareth..... you need a Bongo in your life. I'm pretty sure mine is going to bring about a revolution in my Bass playing world. The amount of usable tones you can get from the one bass is just astonishing. I expect to see "Sky Blue Bongo (on order)" in you signature very soon.....;-)

Funny,
I remember that I TOO was a lover of nothing but subsonic bass tones back in my youth. I had a 2x15 cab, and thought nothing could be better than this!

I have since realized that mids are where it's at, and have changed my way of thinking as well. I now play the rig listed in my signature, and wouldn't have it any other way.

Im sold BP... Single H Bongo is the best combo out there. Just let me know if you ever want to get rid of you Rosewood/True Gold. I will give it a good home. JOSH

Hey BP, you described my amp's setting exactly how I have it. I set everything flat to simply get a more pure tone of just my Music Man basses.

Single H is great. I mostly use my Big Al H (Thanks Richard!) through the same Markbass 1x12 combo. Years from now people will talk about these rigs the same way they talk about F*nders and 8x10s, legendary sounds, universal applications, but with untapped versatility...

BP no truer words have been spoken. I have an awesome HH Bongo and it never sees any light because of the 2 Hs.

Bongo are a wonder unto themselves! Awesome design and engineering work!

The tone on the 4H I had the pleasure of trying was really sweet!!
