Hey BP,
Thanks for the words of wisdom :)
I am the owner of some amazing stingrays...
And also the owner of a great 2004 Bongo Lava Pearl HH 4.....
I JUST placed a deposit on a brand new 2009 Dargie Delight II H4....
Greatly looking forward to getting it!
Have never played a Bongo single H ....
And to jump into it with the DDII 4H is highly anticipated for sure...

Thanks again for everything musicman does for our ears!!

cheers from New Yawk!!

:)

Goodness, that's a fine looking thing, mrfstop. That lost shot is TRULY beautiful, too. Great lighting.

As most everyone knows by now, I'm a big fan of the single H Bongos. Yours is a thing to dream about.

Thanks buddy...Had some time this afternoon to snap a few pics ....All natural light bouncing around the living room.
No flashes or reflectors...fun stuff....Not the best for depth of field, but made the most of it :D

I am loving the Single H Bongo as well..great stuff...I think I have turned into a EBMM junkie in short order....

Nothing like it to get that deep, rich color. Those DD2's have some serious stuff going on.

It happens. I think a lot of people assume my devotion to the instruments was somehow dependent or at least heavily influenced by certain connections I have now, but sometimes I think it's worth mentioning that I had my first Stingray in the 70s and didn't know that BP guy until after I had a Bongo or two. I mean, he's been a horrible influence, to be sure.

Glad you're liking the single H. What's next? You thinking about a Big Al now?

Yes, they do for sure have some serious stuff going on!
Wondering is there any different in the Original Dargie and the Dargie II?
I mean other than the fret markers? I know one has the martini glasses and the other has the cool pearl ovals.
Wondered if that was it?

For sure it has happened to me.
I remember playing bass in bands back in the mid 80's and wanting to try a MM stingray back then.
Never did.
Then about a year ago, Saw a few of them hanging at the local GC store...
Played a few and found one in particular I fell in love with right away!
I ended up buying that one, it is the 2009 GC limited run Sapphire Black one with the Ebony fretboard and string through body, that's listed in my lineup.
NOW, I am gaga over the brand....And have 6 MM's basses. Wanting more! hahaha!! Dangerous habit!! $$$!!! ;)
Yeah, wanting to get a Big Al SSS I think......Something to strive for in the near future!!
Also G.A.S.ing bigtime for a Stealth Bongo 4 H with ebony board!!! Must be the spy in all of us that loves those things!! :D

Hey thanks for the support....baby needs shoes...or a new smoker.

It is funny these are all sort of my babies....even the stingray...I adopted it.

But they all have seemed to hold up. I spent some time with a Sting Ray recently (yesterday and just loved it too....I am break9ing out a Sterling because it has been awhile since I played it. Right now I am reaching for the bongo single h still and the big all 5 and 3s.
