I received SIT nickel wound on my new G&L L2000 a couple of years ago. That was the first time I heard of them and liked them alot. I bought another set after the originals got old and then switched to EB hybrid slinkys. I may get another set some day.

I remember something like that happened to my orchestra teacher in middle school. The guy was tuning a guy's viola and the strings snapped. Left a gash in his face, I think. The upside was that he grossed $33 million over the weekend.

SIT stands for Stay In Tune. Based out of Ohio, they are very popular in my store, because they are a great value. Definitely not overpriced.
