I'm getting a sitar type buzz on the G and B strings, regardless of gauge change on my Axis. Its coming from the nut cause it does not do this when I fret a note, only on the open string for both strings.

I'm guessing its a burr somewhere that the string is vibrating against. What's a good tool to use to file it gently down, even out the slot?

Thanks

There are nut slot files available (stew mac), however, I also suggest taking it to a tech to give it an assessment if you don't have experience with this.......plus they already have the nut slot file (if needed) so you don't need to buy one!!

Good advice - nut slot files not only come in various widths, but they also either cut a flat face on the bed of the nut or a rounded face. The angle of the slot has to be right too.

This is a Floyd nut so the risk of screwing up is less, cause of the hard material. I've done this before but it was a pain, wondering if there are any good tools I can use to make this easier?
