Music Man Bongo Sighting In London!

Cliff Hugo, bassist for Supertramp and the Carl Verheyen Band, recently embarked on another European Tour with his Ernie Ball Music Man Bongo. The Bongo, with its attractive line and distinctive growl, cause musicians and music fans alike to become enchanted with this new design. “Whether it’s a backstage engineer or a fan, people always stop me to ask about my Bongo,” explained Hugo.
Hugo utilizes six Bongos live, keeping two in Europe, where he frequently tours. In a recent Bongo spotting, he was seen sporting the Bongo at the Limelight in London. In addition to playing it on stage, he also uses his Bongo for everything from jingles to movies to album projects.
“The Bongo really works for my approach,” said Hugo. “It’s the next generation bass, with the old school features that you need and love and all the exciting aspects of something that is new and different. It’s a perfect blend of old and new, he continued.
According to Hugo, it has a great sound, feels good and has an excellentwide range of EQ. He added, “Plus the two-octave neck is cool, the tuning is accurate, and I like its different look.”
A 30-year plus music industry veteran, Hugo also currently plays with Melissa Manchester and Paul Williams and has recorded with Ray Charles, David Benoit, Manhattan Transfer, and Tevin Campbell, to name a few.
