I have been contemplating getting a six string bass, and just tried a Schecter 6 string bass and I feel with a little time in the house with it I could get use to a six. I am using a MM Bongo HH5er and was wondering if the string spacing on the Bongo six was the same as the five or a little tighter. Is there anyone here that has played both and would know the answer?

Hello,

The string spacing on the Bongo6 is the same as the Bongo5...17.5mm at the bridge. I've not played the 6er.

I own a Bongo6, and let me tell you that neck feels great! the string spacing is the same as the Bongo5...and for a 6 string is not that heavy.

I own a Bongo 6 HH and have played many Bongo 5's and the spacing is exactly the same. The Bongo 6's neck is perfect. I went from 4 strings to 6 strings easily. I love the tone of the Bongo 6's high C. In fact, I got adjusted to the new higher string quicker than the B string. Go for the Bongo 6. It's the only bass I play now.
