Few travel related questions. I'll be jamming with very old buddies and need to fly. Have any of you tried this case on a Axis Super Sport?

SKB Injection-Molded Strat/Tele-Style ATA Guitar Flight Case and more Guitar Cases and Gig Bags at GuitarCenter.com.

Looks good but it has pretty hefty price tag. Still wonder how much better it is than the standard Music Man hard shell case?

Also have any of you flown recently with a gig bag on a Delta domestic flight -the smaller jets flown to smaller airports. Any issues with them fuzzing about the gig bag?

All clues and advice will be much appreciated!

It's been a few years since I flew Delta specifically, but I've had no issues with the EBMM gigbag as carry-on in any of the smaller planes. The only time I had a small problem was when I was running late for a connecting flight and all of the overhead bins were full and the stewardess put it up front in an upright bin. If you arrange early boarding you should have no problems...

At the last forum bash I was really surprised to see how Dave LaRue travels with his Bongos... We were on the same flight and he checked his basses in the plain old musicman SKB case. I'm not sure I'd be that trusting though...

Thanks Fred, that's helpful. I flew Delta a few years back and didn't have a problem with my gig bag but I thought I might as well check with you guys that travel more frequently. Still not sure about the pricy but cool looking SKB Strat-Tele case.

Steve Morse says he's always travelled with a gig bag. In all his years, he's had problems exactly twice, where he removed the neck and then put the whole thing under the seat in front of him. I think I'd go that way.
