Slinky bass flatwound 5 string

Has anyone tried the new Slinky flatwounds yet? I was thinking of trying a set of 5 string, (45-65-80-100-130). I was thinking of trying a set on a G&L 5 string 34 scale....wanted to go through the body, are the strings long enough?

Any idea when the 2816 will be available? Musician Friend is expecting 4-2-15. I'd like to get a set sooner than that!
