Hey Guys
So, long Story short, I came by a Music Store tried a few Guitars and fell in Love with a Black Y2D.
I don't have the $$$ right now... but this Guitar will be mine, it has to be :D
Now my Question for you Morse/Y2D Owners (kestrou :p ) how does the Y2D handle Drop Tunings?
I was thinking about tuning it to D Standard. Do the Pickups sound muddy with lower Tunings, what about the Action?
I got one of my JPs set up for C Standard, and after setting it up and filing the nut it plays and sounds perfect.
Another Question, is the Black Y2D a limited edition color? It's not listed on the EBMM site, and not too many Stores seem have them. It's not a Darklord, just a Black Burst Y2D.

Thx

Steve has used Drop D himself more and more. Both SM models handle it just fine.

I know this video is of the old school SM guitar but I think the pickups are very similar if not identical (I'm sure someone can fact check me on this).

BUC's answer is better than mine, but since you asked... :)

I recorded this two days ago (Friday, August 5th) - using a "Standard" Morse, but believe the pickuos are identical to a Y2D - it's a cover of "Going Down" in Drop D and I'm playing and singing everything (well, except the piano outro, which I'm hoping to expand and then do some Gilmour-ish slow bends dripping in reverb and delay).

Hope the fans here of classic rock and heavy blues will dig it - and the low D sounds great to me on the rhythm guitar tracks!

NOTE: Just realized that I was already a half step down (had been jamming on some Stevie Ray :) ), so the song above is actually in Drop-D-flat.
