I bought a set of these at the UK bash - top bananna!

Here's how I installed them -please refer to the instructions - this thread is only my thoery - but might help you!

<<THIS IS DONE IN A TELE INFO-MERCIAL SETUP STYLE>>

First you'll need some Ernie Ball strap locks -available from all good stores they come in chrome gold and black and are SOLID

Next you'll need a decent quality cross or phillips head screwdriver - here's one I robbed earlier!

And finally an electric guitar, here's one that I like to think of as sexy.....MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm Allllllll

The poor guitar has had an "OTHER" system installed on it and now it's time to make it go away!

Use the screwdriver and remove the old crappy buttons...

See how much deeper a the EBMM lock goes in (does anyone else find this sexual? ) compared to the competitor!

If you can't use a screwdriver - use this !

Don't try this at home kids!

Since these instructions came up I guess i'll show my ignorance and ask a rather silly question. Does the large washer go behind the strap under the nut or on top of the strap under the lock mechanism with the logo on it? I installed it with the washer under the strap with the nut tightened against it nice and snug... good? bad?

The washer goes under the nut :

i.e. Put strap onto lock shaft => then washer => then nut => then tighten it up

(the washer provides the clamping surface area to hold the strap).

Smelly, thanks for the tutorial. I'm not new at all to installing straplocks, but I found this helpful anyway. I ordered a chrome pair for my Ruby BFR, and the straplocks should be here next week, then I'm getting a gold set for when I order my Koa BFR JP. Now I'm really excited to get those straplocks. I can finally use my leather strap instead of my DiMarzio Cliplock (even though the Cliplock's rule). Thanks again.

Yep, been using the straplocks for a week or so and they are great. Very secure! I'm a fan of the dimarzio cliplocks too, but these are nice too.
