Snap In Trem Arms

When did snap in trem arms become available for vintage trem silos? My silo has the snap in arm and black bobbin pickups, and my Silo Spec has a treaded trem arm.

I have a 2000 Special with a threaded arm. Jon told me it was modded by the first owner, and he (of course) was correct. A pop in arm works in it as well.

I'm not sure but my guess is, your guitar was also modded. What's the DOB on it? Have you tried your Silo arm in your Special?

Which is original the pop-in or threaded?

Right now they are all of the pop-in type. As candid said, you may want to try putting the pop-in arm in the Silo Special - you may have an old or non EB arm in there.

Thanks Peter - actually both are fine, I was trying to figure out if one or the other had be altered, or if the snap-in arm indicated a newer instrument.
