I have been trying to get alot more serious about recording my songs. Actually just finishing them would be nice. However, it seems easier to finish them off when you get them down on tape. (Well it is a digital 8-track, so I guess it isn't really on "tape".) I think the hardest part is coming up with the lyrics. I can take months to finish off a song.
I was just recording the rhythm guitar and bass for a rock song that is about 6 1/2 minutes. The takes and re-takes for both the guitar and bass took about 3-4 hours. It's pretty fun when your music comes together, but I guess it can be a bit tedious.
It's great recording with the Music Man guitar and bass. I finally feel like I am getting the sound I want.
