Earlier this week, my normal sales rep at guitar center called me to tell me that they have received several majesties. Knowing that I've bought five of the music man from the store before, you thought I would appreciate the call. When I showed up, it wasn't even on the floor yet. He had to go into the back to put from stock. I played it. And it is a fantastic playing guitar. The action was set up a little high for me, but I can easily tell that the quality was top notch.

I spent about 20 minutes playing the guitar. It played and sound is fine. I just don't think it's for me. I've gotten used to the scale length of the Luke three in Albertly models. But she seems a little bit longer for me right now. At some point I might change my mind, but for now it's a pass.

Please don't take what I say as the guitar is not any good. It is clearly a fantastic guitar. It was made well and sounded great. Just not for me. If you took so it is a technology from that guitar and put it into a luke three or a Y2D, I would be all over it.

Congrats to Music Man for putting out an outstanding product.

Indeed, the scale is 25.5", standard Stratocaster scale length.
You probably found strange the extra access to the upper frets.

The majesty is such a different machine that I'm not surprised any more by people who weren't so into it after their first impression. I've told all my regular customers that have asked that they may not like it right away simply because it's so different. Live with one for a while, at least long enough for it to feel more normal to you. Then you'll really start to appreciate it.

FWIW I had the same with the old JP6. The way the 24 fret neck is set into the body with the horn as designed makes the guitar position itself a bit odd.

Initially I disliked how it looked in web pix.

Then I played one.

And I loved how it felt AND how it looked in real life.
