After reading al these things about flats (especialle from Jack), I decided I'd give them a try. I bought some flats yesterday, just putted them on my first bass, an Ibanez EDC 700, and they sound quite cool!
From quite mellow tunes to some straight forward jazz, the flats respond very well. I think I'm goint to make my ibanez as a standard-flat bass
But the fell, man, it's weird, they're so....Flat! And soft
When I was in the shop yesterday, I also played some basses, and one of them was a F*nd*r Victor Bailey Jazz. I really liked the sound (of both PU's together, I didn't liked the sound of the PU's individual), it was a beautifull body, great bass!
But it didn't played as good as my Stingray! Not even close
