A quest for my next Music Man. I figured I'd play as many Music Mans as I could just to make sure exactly what it is that I wanted.

The first one I picked up was a Luke.. and man, that neck just isn't for me. It feels so weird in my hands... but damn could it play well, though! It sounded awesome, too!

The second guitar was a BFR JP6 in Bahama Blue Burst. Good looking guitar.. so beautiful! It needed a setup real bad, so I can't really give a good opinion. But, I will say that I prefer the non-painted necks on the standard JPs. But, it did sound amazing though.. If only I could have both!

The third was an Axis Super Sport. Oh my goodness.. that guitar played like BUTTER. I def. want an Axis now, but then I picked up a Mystic Dream JP6 and was almost won over by that. I've got a JP6 already, and will be selling my other guitars soon to fund more Music Man purchases. So, it's not like I won't be getting another one after this.. it's just a matter of what, though.

So, here it is folks.. JP6 in Mystic Dream, or Axis(I'm going for the Axis with the floyd.)???

AHH. I mean, I'm getting both.. but what should I get first? I'm thinking Axis!

I've got a good week to decide.. hmm..

No way.. I love my PRB. :) The finish is so intense, and so me. :D

Besides, it's my first ball, and I could never get rid of it. :)

Oh ****. Word's got an idea..

I can trade in one of my fresh Ibanezes and get this used Axis Super Sport for a disgustingly low price.

There ya go. Thinkin' outside the box.

I'm trying real hard not to do this, but I'm having difficulty NOT justifying buying ANOTHER ball after this Axis so that I can break even on the money I was expecting to spend! lol!!!!!

Does that make me a bad person? Hahaha!

Well if it were me, I already have a PRB Petrucci as well as a Desert Gold. I have a CBP Luke as well. I hate Mystic Dream so I'd get the Axis. Plus, I've loved every Axis I've ever played.

I agree that at first the Luke's neck feels a bit odd but mine is the best playing guitar I own so I can't get rid of it.

I've had two pets a couple of months ago. Then I've sold one to buy a 20-th silo. Now I'VE GOT to say this - if it was not for an instrument ("guitar" seems to plain a word for the 20-th silo) as magical as the 20-th, I would have never sold it!

So my advice is buy a second JP, especially if you play a lot live - than you need two trem guitars.

Multi, I'm with Cud here man, the first Lukes I messed around with didn't do anything for me, but my Dargies neck is a totally different ball game man.

If the Axis feels good man, go for it!! Variety is the spice of life my friend. :)

I say grab the Axis, you'll have a huge spectrum of tonal options at your disposal with that and a JP in your arsenal. The Axis makes some mean, rockin' sounds!

I'm a fan of having different axes. I find I pick up a different guitar and have different inspiration, but still play like me.

The Axis is a sweet guitar. While the neck is quite different that the Pet, if you really like it then pick one up. You can't really go wrong.
