I've been through many brands over my almost 10 years of destroying music on guitars and couldn't truly "bond" with many. One brand I was hooked on for awhile was Terry McInturff, Terry makes great guitars and I owned six of them at one point, different models and now I'm down to just one, my Taurus Standard which is Terry's singlecut Les Paul style guitar. Have had it since 2001 and being a stop tail, has been my heavy string gauge multiple tuning beast. Loved the '57 neck carve, loved the LP feel although it's not 24.75" scale.
In walks my JP6 last April, I have to say that my Taurus has not seen much play time and has been hanging on my wall with no pickups in it for the past 7 months awaiting it's rewound Wolfetone pickups (too lazy to put the stock pickups in!!!).
So tonight, I'm fitting up my new strap I bought to my JP6, got everything where I like it so I switch over to the Taurus to see how it fits up. The guitar just feels so foreign to me now. I'm so used to every nuance with the JP6, the switch placement, the neck, the arm contour in the body that I'm just not digging my Taurus at all
Do I just need to sit down and spend some quality time with my Taurus or am I just fully integrated into my JP6 and the only answer is another JP6 with maybe some PAFish type pickups to give it a different flavor??
