From the video, it sounds like his other piezo equipped guitars, but I think you'll really have to have one in your hands to see how it sounds.

Coll Vid and thanks a lot!!!

Looks killer under the stage lights.

Sounds like a BFR (which is great) - but You can't tell the nuances from a bootlegged live video. We'd have to wait 'till something official comes out, preferably a comparison of John (or someone) playing exactly the same lick with all the three JP guitar models (standard-JPX-BFR).

I'm wondering how many JPX models he will be bringing on this upcoming tour... and if any varieties in finish?

Sounds pretty much like his other guitars with piezo to me. Likely just the crappy audio/video quality.

Haha yeah the quality is pretty crappy, but it's the only video I could find where he has the piezo alone.

I'm also curious whether he'll bring more JPXs for his different tunings and replace all his BFRs with them.

Yeah I asked because I remember when he got his BFR collection that suddenly he had all BFRs and even his trusty mystic dream original was relegated to home use. I wonder now if this will be the same and he'll completely replace the BFRs. I just can't see him doing it because then he'd have 10 guitars with the same color!! Guitar tech nightmare!

I think we all know that if JP ditched the standard BFR's for the JPX's, he'd probably get a bunch in one off colors, just like he did with the BFR's. I don't ever see JP using 10 guitars with the same finish. Either way, I doubt he'll stop using the BFR's live.

Yeah I think he might at least keep the BFR baritones and maybe his backups for his standard tuning, but I hope he replaces them with the JPXs because I want to see the cool one-offs haha.

Friends,

Are you sure that's the JPX? When I was watching the video, it looks to me as though the guitar has two 3-way toggle switches (as the JPs have had for years), rather than a 3-way toggle and the new 5-way blade.

Maybe that's some sort of hybrid model that has the chambering and color, but not the blade switch.

(Or am I crazy, and seeing things that aren't there?)

Looks like the JPX to me. I don't know how you can even see the toggles in that video. The quality is so bad and the camera is almost moving around the entire time. Not to mention the fact that the guy filming seems to be 50 feet away from the stage. LOL.

Hi, I was at this concert on friday. It IS the JPX and the piezo sounded great, JPs tone was awesome that night. He also used it on Erotomania and Voices.

Cheers!

PS It looks unreal on stage!
