If it has truly sold out to individuals this fast and literally before or at the time it was announced, these are going to double in price on the re-sale market by all the flippers who jumped on them. Great for them. But I think EBMM really missed the mark here.

Lol.

There have been plenty of occasions where limited runs came back again or were subsequently offered later.

I love how the pickups poles which are similar to those of the Liquifire. Aesthetics, obviously.
I really like the silver color

Can you name one example? I've been around these forums and Music Man guitars a long time and there hasn't been a run that has been repeated, as far as I can recall.

They can't for this one. If they advertise it as total quantity of 50, then they are bound to that, or they risk legal penalties for false advertising. I voiced it in another thread, but I cannot say enough how aggravated I am by this. Further aggravated that they are still advertising this guitar on social media after it has been sold out. MM used to have a better understanding of its fanbase than this. How could they not know how popular the Majesty 10th would be? If Big Poppa still lurks around here, I'd love an explanation as to how they came up with only making 50 of these guitars.

I'm not defending their decision to only produce 50, but I understand the rationale for the anniversary model. It can't hurt to email CS and ask if one more can be made, but from my interactions with AJ and a few others over at EBMM, I think one of the major reasons special runs/forum runs/limited runs have either disappeared/have their numbers capped is their backlog.

The guys are just swamped. Production is full-swing at all times, and trying to squeeze in a new run when they are trying to fulfill obligations to dealers and other customers who've been waiting for their orders to be filled isn't as simple as one would think.

Ok, so I'll have to walk that back a bit. They've re-issued popular items that were out of production (Axis Tribute, Luke I, Blue Dawn reissues etc.) and a few items that weren't really intended for production (e.g. a few of the Luke items that were made as one-offs for him, etc.) I've also seen one-offs that were based on limited runs ... I picked up an artist model Starry Night LIII produced long after the initial run.

I don't know if there really are legal repercussions for that- I would guess that they are free to produce more as they see fit. If not, they could do a run that's close (using the colour but not the pickup covers, etc.).

I do hear your frustration. I don't know why the run was so limited- could be production slots, parts availability (the custom pickup covers), or could be something else entirely. That said, even if it was a larger run, there's no guarantee of being able to get one. (Reminds me of a conversation I've had with my daughter about getting Taylor Swift tickets ...)

Hopefully they hear the feedback everyone has on this one.

Although I understand the frustration of not being one of the lucky 50. You can’t fault music man for that. This was a very limited run. You’ll be able to buy one when resellers sell it for double the price. That’s just how these things go. Look at how much the nomac majesty is on the market.

We absolutely can fault them. Brand loyalty goes BOTH ways and a lot of people are going to walk away from this with a sour taste towards the brand. This wasn't like the Nomac. That was a grail guitar that was super expensive with a very small segment of collectors that could even afford it.. The Majesty 10th is an anniversary model at normal majesty pricing and thus way more demand for it. Limiting like that is just a dumb decision and dumb decisions hurt brands. Everyone has been pointing out production capacity. Well, NO ONE asked for a gallium Kaizen, which they are making double that of the Majesty 10th. Retailers have been knocking as much as $1000 off Kaizens that have been collecting dust. So yeah, good idea to just make more instead of guitars in the 2nd best selling signature line of all time that always have a good demand.

While the Anniversary Majesty guitars may have sold out in the Vault, they have only just begun shipping to dealers in the past few days (after the launch). Independent dealers (like me) were limited to a quantity of ONE. Some dealers may have pre-sold their guitar while others may be waiting to receive before listing it for sale. It is entirely possible that some of these guitars will become available for purchase in the next several weeks.

Within minutes of the Night Terror video launching I had emails from people wanting to order the guitar and/or be placed on a waiting list. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this happened to other well-known dealers, and the supply was sucked up almost instantly.

Another thing to keep in mind is this: The EBMM factory does not necessarily know whether or not a dealer has pre-sold an instrument that they have on order.

Yeah, I'll admit it. I don't understand super limited runs. I just don't see the appeal, when I'd rather have a color I really like than have something just because it's the "10th anniversary model".

What I don't understand even more is people who REALLY want a super limited run but then complain that it is super limited. You want it that much, but then don't understand how it could sell out so fast? How many more should they make?

Anyway, I'm off to go get on the waiting list for a Train Wreck amp. Wish me luck!
