Yes please tell us I am waiting to find out so that I can finally buy one. I am hoping that lake placid blue will be a regular with a maple board personally, and if i could get one with a roasted neck I would be in heaven.

You, sir, have exquisite taste. I'd like to see honeyburst or purple myself.

I'd love to hear more about this. I'm the proud owner of two Classic Stingrays and the amazing finishes were one of the major reasons for buying them. Is there any way of finding out what Ernie Ball are making and who will be selling them? I'm especially interested in the special runs.

Here's the scoop guys: I was at the convention yesterday, and stupid me forgot the camera. However, I can shed a little light.

I noticed 3 colors that were "new" for the classics...

The pearl blue (?) that was talked about in another thread were on display. I 'think' there was a classic model of that on display, but didn't really pay attention because....

They had a "Retro Burst" model available. The MM rep said it fades from a deep brown rather than the black edging you would see on a tobacco burst. This is apparently THE first color selected when the original stingrays were made. I bought it and was then told that the neck was custom made to reflect the first stingray ever made (so it was a one-off but the retro burst will be available to the public next spring). I have pics up in another thread here...

Lastly, I did see a dark red classic, with maybe a hint of sparkle with a matching tortiose-shell guard and maple neck. It looked great.

Other than that, i did scope out the selection and did not see any other colors, they may have been sold or just not represented.

Wish I had pics to share with everything they had but at least I can share some info since I did attend.
