Have I missed something on this board?

This is from the JP forum..

"And for those who didn't go who are curious; straight from JP's mouth:
The changes being made to the next version of the JPMM will be the D-Sonic, the neck joint will be changed, and the cutaway where the higher frets are on the higher strings will be cut out more to allow for even better access to those higher frets...interesting eh??"

I heard about the pickup change, but not any of the the other features. This is why I started the thread. I saw that JP/20th Ann. Silo hybrid that BP posted, was that it?

Knuckleheads,

Each time we think that we are done and ready to make changes JP and I spend time together and all hell breaks loose! We have made dozens of guitars for John Some hits ,a few misses.

Ive already posted the gist of this previously, but for those of you who missed it here it is.

What is funny is that we were going for this modern, tightly focused, articulated tone that could handle John's speed and precision. Then he's killing time in my Desert office playing my new favorite the 20th Silo ( which is a real vintage axe) while Im answering emails and he keeps playing and keeps saying how neat this guitar is. So for giggles I say Ill make some guitars with these specs thinking nothing of it that maybe he might use them in the studio or something.
Bottom line he started playing it in the show three shows ago for one song and then for possibly DT's most important show ever he uses it for 40% of the show.

The concept of using alder, maple, and the double secret mahog tone plug is really fabulous. We are prototyping basses with this combo and now I'm gonna have to make Luke one!

this makes me want to practice hard, become a rockstar, and get lots of EBMM's

Yeah. Plus then maybe they'll be kind enough to build you a signature model. Remember kids, EBMM does not make custom instruments for Joe Blow. Just rock stars.

Well then I guess I've got no choice but to get famous so I can get a sig model then. :D

I love my Silo like no other guitar I've ever played, it just kills me that I can't get a custom one with a few minor tweaks. :(

I'll stop whining now.

So is it true nobody who has an EBMM has a contract? I mean, they play them becuase they love them right?

I can totally understand it, I sure would, and do play EBMM because I love them, just curious about the artists.

I really love the fact that the 20th anniv SiLO is catching on with these cool influential people. I almost feel that my crying whining and bitching for this guitar for 2 or more years may have been worth it. Use guys really stepped up to the plate to do something this cool and I am super impressed. The way yall have the (IMNSHO) BEST guitars out there really makes me proud to be able to play EBMM. Like Luke and Dudley said, "There are tons of great guitars out there!" But also like Luke said, "I like the one you built for me Dudley."
I'm gonna go sit by my mailbox now and wish for the Big Brown Truck to come to my house safely.

Well hopefully they'll make a JP7 as well, cause if they do, the boys at sevenstring.org will be lining up in anticipation to jump on one of these tone monsters. More converts coming to the light!
