So, I read that Fender used to use car paint to do their guitars. This idea came up again in my head when I saw a Pontiac Grand Prix that looked a heck of a lot like Mystic Dream (MD looks a heck of a lot better, though), and my buddy's car is Black Sapphire. It's not car paint (at least the solid, single color, opaque finishes), is it? Just curious.

Well I know the Luke Blue color is matching Lucious his Porsche..

I wouldn't mind if EBMM would use some car finishes..I'd LOVE to see them adding this color:

Changes from blue to a kind of gold, very classy:cool:

My guitar building buddy has most of the paint codes for the old Fender guitars ( I can't say how he got them but he was soooo lucky!!)- he tells me that they were car colours.

I was just at the 2006 North American International Auto Show.

I saw some Audi finishes that made me wish for them on a new JP guitar. I'm such a sucker for metallic finishes.

Whatever EBMM does with their finishes, wherever the colors came from, wherever the ideas came from, I love them. I was recently comparing my Pearl Redburst to my friend's Mystic Dream finish, because I've wanted the latter finish for some time now. I came to a new appreciation of the PRB. It's really a far more complex finish than I ever gave it credit for. It's really wonderful to my eyes. [bigthumbsup] It really just made me love my guitar even more and made me feel better about not having a "fully loaded" Pet.
