Haha nice.

joking aside i got a tribal planet gig bag with my SUB and i'm pretty impressed with it, good padding, seems pretty rugged, particularly the area around the bottom strap button. The shoulder straps are nice and wide and well padded too, and there are some good sized pockets. I understand they're relatively inexpensive too.

Just keep it in the hardcase. I Lug mine to school most days, I have taken them to Italy, I have had them imported from the US - the MM hardcases are indestructible and are much lighter than my other ones. Plus it will build up strength in your bass-hands.

I once used a very padded softcase and I still ended up with a fat old ding in the back of my Ray.

Edit: silverburst that was genious.

silverbursts link was excellent, but it still didnt help the original poster.

as i have experienced not all bags are created equal and since he is going to use it on our fav brand of basses i think some advice is appropriate :)

hardcases are tough to lug around if you dont have a car or need to walk more than half a mile. much better with backpacks in that case..
our store has used tkl bags exclusively because the zipper doesnt break after a while... the padding is not that solid but the bag just keeps on working. we also stocked ritter bags untill they lost distribution. they are good bags but more expensive..

i hope that was helpful to ya rosco :)

That Tribal Planet looks interesting! That said, our guitarist loves his Ritter bag, and looks as if it can take some serious bashing. I'll probably get one of the Ritter's bass bags, when I can find one to check out first.

I found that the MM hardcases are very well balanced...I have a fender one that just nosedives into the ground and is impossible to carry as it scrapes along the floor. The MM one just kind of 'floats'. Maybe you are just clumsy!
I used to have a rockbag that worked well, but I don't take the risk anymore.
