I can't seem to get the pic to show up but the link works.
Well I dropped it off at the UPS place this morning. I played it for the last time last night and it is a fantastic guitar. Silos are so my thing but this one just never got played. I really like the maple necks. It's going to a happy home where it will get a lot of love and get shown off. I know I will regret the decision to sell this but I think I can find something to console me. (See signature below)

The guitar went to a forum member who is currently not active. This is their first Music Man. While it wasn't a new guitar sell, this forum was responsible for yet another guitar sell. Don't worry BP. I am sure that they will be addicted and knocking on your door soon for that special crack that only you can provide. And you got to love that this is just good for the industry, the community, and the country. <Battle hymm of the republic is playing in the background>

On the horizion I do see myself buying a another EBMM to replace this one. I'll enquire about my special needs at the round table discussion Saturday. I just know BP is gonna put the smack down on me and fire back with a resounding:
NO WAY!!!
Still I just gotta ax. <-- good pun eh?

Also pete!
Could you email me a quote for a GraPHearL piezo trem moonstone maple natty silo? I definitely would like to wait till I know comp nuts will be included. I'll find the matching knobs myself.

OK, so I thought I would track the package to make sure that all is well. This morning the ups websight says the package is out for delivery here in Tucson.

I called ups and they said there is a problem with the weight written on the bill. I weighed the package and it was exactly 20lbs. The driver wrote 20lbs on the bill not knowing that I weighed it independently.

I hope that it doesn't weigh less since they ran over it with a truck or something like that.

I noticed that once a guitar was shipped from EB that the weight was listed as 30 lbs. Can someone at EB lend some thoughts on this?

Right now I don't know what is happening other than I have to go home and be on ups house arrest.

I know that in my experience, UPS will often say the guitars I ship are "oversized" and then apply some multiplier to the actual weight to arrive at the fee they want to charge me - for instance, they package may actually weigh 20 lb., but they charge me for 30 lb. because it is too long and considered "oversized"... :(

I haven't shipped any guitars in a long, long time though (way too broke now to be trading guitars, and besides, I have no guitars I want to trade anymore ;) )

From the ups website tracking page

AN INCORRECT ROUTING AT A UPS FACILITY CAUSED THIS DELAY;THE PACKAGE WAS MISSORTED AT THE HUB. IT HAS BEEN REROUTED TO THE CORRECT DESTINATION SITE

Sometimes to much information is a bad thing. If I had left it alone and not known anything (stayed stupid) all would be well. I called UPS and they said they are still going to deliver it on time. All I have to do is let the big brown machine work and cash the money order.

I b'leeb that the 30lbs is a flat value assigned to the package when EB ships, that way different models and options don't all have to be individually weighed.

I ship EB guitars at 25lbs, and once in a while UPS does an audit and something comes in at 26lbs. Then they bill me another $1.17 --- If you overestimate there is no penalty, but sometimes you will get a credit. If you underestimate, they get mad and bill you for the difference.

The person who bought the guitar had this to say:

Norm,

The guitar arrived yesterday at around 6:00pm. You
weren't bs'n when you said you only played it a
handful of times... there's not a single scratch on
this thing! I took the guitar out of the case as soon
as it arrived, and it didn't leave my hands until
midnight. I'm lovin' it!
