I guess this is really a question for BP/Jon and the factory guys....

Is there any way of getting a solid rosewood neck other than buying one of the all rosewood Axis guitars.

I really want one of the necks but would prefer it on a different body IYSWIM.

Of course I would be more than happy to give the unused neck back (so it doesnt appear on any dodgy "copies" on eBay in a years time)

I can always buy two guitars and swap the necks but want to check before I go down that route.

Thanks

Dave

In a word, no. The rosewood neck only comes on the rosewood guitars and if we replace a neck, it has to be a neck of the same type.

Dang! I wanted to put one on my honeyburst Axis - would have been sweet. So now - I also have to wonder - how would that maple neck sound with a rosewood body?

And just a quick question, Jon - are the necks basically the same design? (shape, screw hole placement, radius, fret size, etc...)

The guitar thats left is going to look odd.....

Rosewood body, maple neck and trans gold (non-) matching headstock!

Still if thats the only way then I'll just have to buy more guitars

I suppose I'd have to get a natural stained Axis too for the switch, so the headstock wouldn't look TOO funny! Just have that all natural neck/headstock strat vibe going on.

Boy, I really need to win the Powerball.

Dan please let us know how you like your rosewood ....I think that they are really cool.

I sure will. Can't wait to see it in person.
I wasn't completely floored by the rosewood top look of them (on pictures I saw), but that neck makes it all worth it :)

Wait until you see it in the flesh, Dan. The binding and zebras look great against the top. It's not flashy, but I love mine more every day.
Give us a report/pics when it arrives!

Well, it's in! :)

Opened the box and took the guitar out only for a few minutes. Initial impression:
- A little on the heavy side. Maybe it's just perception because of its compact design.
- The neck feels amazing! I like the shape of it, and it's very narrow for me, which is kind of cool in a way. I'm used to PRS wide fingerboards.
- Very resonant. At least from the minute I strummed and fingerpicked it.
- I love the feel of the trem.
- The whole thing feels really solid. It's a nice feeling.

More to come later. I'll plug her in when I get home tonight - I can not wait!
Here's the Magdon pic for now, but I'll post my own later this week.
