Hi folks. I would really appreciate some advice from the Music Man community. I have a fixed bridge Axis made in January 1998 that I am thinking of "moving on". My playing style and technique has changed radically since I bought the guitar a few years a go and it doesn't feel comfortable to use anymore - seems a shame that someone isn't playing it regularly. I think they only made these for about a year, so I guess this makes it "unusual". However, I have no idea whether this adds to value or whether it is just another well used, well loved 12 year old MM! So I guess my question is, is there a demand for these out there?

It is different, but, not in such high demand that it would call for a bigger price. I would sell at a used price. Check around e-bay or the sticky to get an idea of what it will go for.

Well it is what the market bears at the moment, if it is mnt should fetch 1000.00 to 1200.00, not mint well what Tony said.

But while yea, older good condition and not many made still not going to bring EVH money plus I own the same guitar, 1997 Trans Gold Axis Hardtail, I tried selling mine here and on ebay never sold and on here I dropped the price to 900.00, and on ebay the highest I could get the bidding too was 750.00 so good look selling but be willing to tke a hit right now.

I decided to pull the guitar for sale, it is now on loan doing some recording for my brothers music project.

I can't speak for everyone but the entire reason I bought my EVH and Axis (besides that they played so nice) was that they were Floyd equipped. I have enough hardtail guitars... So in all honesty they sell just a bit lower than ones with Floyd Roses... Just my own personal opinion... Still great guitars...

IT's a tough sale sometimes. It's a configuration that EBMM doesn't offer, but it's a bit of a niche. Some can't really differentiate between the Axis hardtail and the Axis Super Sport hardtail.

I happen to like the Axis hardtail. The simplicity is what attracts me. But it doesn't have a forearm contour, so I've had to sell the ones I've owned.

Axis hardtail is a great rocking axe quite rare as well, if you can afford to keep it, then keep it. I recon those will go up in prices in the future (maybe 20 years from now :p)
