I have to ask....why was your backline set up with the stacks pointing sideways across the stage rather than towards the audience?

Never seen that before!

Oh and nice selection BTW!

too much sound coming from the stage?? easier to make a mix for acoustic guy??

that would be my guess

I do that when I gig as well, but my reason is so the drummer has a moniter. As long as the sound guy is good the house sound will be fine no matter which way the speaker faces. Petrucci used to face the speakers backwards for a period of time, there are all sorts of things you can do. The audience will hear what the sound guy has through his system (but if your amp is not mic'd then you'd better face it forward!!)

We sidewash our amps all the time, regardless of room size or stage size. Lets all the guys hear each other on stage, and in my case, I just turn a bit to my right to have great feedback control. With the P.A. capable of knocking down walls, do you think we're going to let the singers use all that power??? NO WAY!

I see!

I think if I started pointing my amps at anyone else in my band I'd get lynched pretty quickly! I used to run a cabinet over to the bass players side, but stopped this after all the grumbling about excessive volume!

Perhaps you chaps excercise a bit more control than I do!:[Inserts deaf as a post smiley]:D

Not just that they're angled to the side, but there's two of them? Where on earth are you playing in 2006 that will let you in the door with two stacks? Must've been a pretty big gig.

First off GREAT PICS! i love the live gig stuff!!! keep em comin'
I play Alot of smaller Clubs with my TSL60 and a 4x12:D but we also side wash and likewise our PA does the rest,Basicly if there is too much Guitar coming off the stage the sound guy cant control it and it just sounds like crap,if u cant hear use your monitors thats what they are there for.....too many people have a terrible "outfront" sound because they are way too loud on stage especially in smaller venue's hence the sidewash ,

the reason for pointing the halfstacks towards the stage is for better sounding PA mixing.
due to reflections of the sound coming from stage, the overall sound wouldn´t be that clear and fat.

i play the recto and the silver jubilee halfstack, the TSL halfstack is from the band which played afterwards.
on the otherside of the stage, there were 3 halfstacks too. ;)

Yo Joe! Of course you're active on this board, too. :) I really would like to know: Which EBMM is your favorite? Right now I cannot afford another one. Nonetheless, I think my next EBMM will be a JP7.

hey alvesang, good to see you here.

which my favorite is? hard to say.
hm,....i think it is still the EVH.
but the JP with the piezo and the fast neck is very nice too
and the Y2D with its massive tone and the SC near the HB...

i love them all. :)
