Forumites, send me mojo and positive thoughts for a friend who is torn between a (lefty) SR4 H egyptian smoke, and a g&l 2500. I'm working him...hard...(friends don't let friends play anything but EBMM's), but he seems to like the idea of Leo's legacy..

That one's easy: He must have both. :D

(and the 'Ray will become his favorite ;))

RE Guitar Center Clearance basses

I think you have to take the good and the bad buying from GC. I bought a cherry sunburst rosewood neck Stingray 5 HH for $1150 with a case. While at face value that sounds like a good deal. It has some fine scratches on the headstock. The strings were shot. The case had no key. No hang tags. No warranty card-they said GC does warranty on line which I have doubts is true. They were not going to do anything about these issues!

So I got this one for the price of a good used one which it sort of is after being played on by droves of 14 year old kids. I keep my gear in pristine condition so it was a tough debate for me to buy this one.

I will be selling my Stingray 5 black with maple neck.

the "scratch and dent" basses are one of two things. They are either basses that have been scratched or dinged during their life on the floor, OR they are basses we bought awhile ago. As the instance is with most of our clearance basses, yes they have been out and hanging, but are still in VERY good shape. Some still have the film on the plastic. Most of the cases at GC do get pilfered, but I can and do get in contact with Ernie ball about these items. And don't forget the fact that these basses are still considered new in the eyes of Ernie Ball Musicman's warranty department. So you can ind a great deal on a great bass and still have the reassurance of a company reknowned for their customer service. Most of the guys who have been buying from GC are now buying from GC through me because I know and use the the product. I keep on top of everyone involved to make sure deals gothough and I keep my customers updated. I also spend my own time tracking down speciic instruments. GC is largley about finding a guy who will work with you. I offer up time and dedication to you guys!

I don't know of GC doing warranty online either... If you buy an extended warranty through us, then you are auto enrolled and you call an 800 number. With manufacturer's warranties, you have to register with the company.

Had specific questions on this one, figured I'd share with the class. Finish in great condition. pickguard has picking scratches. So does the pickup cover and a few pick scratches on lower horn. Headstock and neck in great condition. I didn't see any dings. One scratch across grip of the A tuning key. I would say its a great deal. Add a tort pickguard and get the hot vintage look. $1061.99

Dezzi, welcome to the forum...Without trying to sound like a flamer...when you buy an American hand-made instrument for a song, and then you complain about the STRINGS being shot..dude, spend the extra 10 bucks for a new set. 99.9% of the strings on all the axes hanging on the wall of ANY music store need to be replaced. If you want hang tags, I can assure you EBMM will provide you with enough to fill both you AND your neighbor's garbage cans. The warranty is a non-issue...Hang here on the forum, meet the great folks at EBMM, and if you have an issue, you are one email away from help.

Both you and I were 14 yr. old kids once, with dreams and aspirations of getting paid to play music. For me GC was a way for a punk kid to play a quality axe and then figure out how many lawns I needed to mow to pay for it. While I agree that The instruments need to be routinely cleaned an polished,...This 'aint a mission to Mars...If you want a flawless, unplayed instrument, pony up and pay the full price. Sorry if I sound proprietary, but I have a vested interest (friendship with the illuminati) ;-)
If you have issues with GC, or EBMM post here, and expect a quick response. Stick around and you will see! -Capt. Don

Hey Zombi,

Can you convince GC to open an Australian franchise and send you down here to run the show? Wish I could send my business your way, or live just that little closer to a GC :p

Keep up the excellent work mate.

Cheers

This is a cool service going on here. A dedicated GC insider helping us to get dibs on excellent instruments in nearly new shape with new warranties at used prices. Win - win - win situation in my book.

my girlfriend would love that. She wants to move to Australia or Norway! Haha! While I can't get you most of them, I can get you gear that is an anniversary or limited edition as long as it is pre 2008 like the blue dawns.

Apologies to any Norwegians present, but tell your gf that Australia is the obvious choice.

We almost speak the same language and our airwaves and tv is mainly American anyway. Besides, we love EBMM down under and we rock... I mean how many world-class Norwegian bands can you name?

I wish there was a SMUG S.O.B smilie right now :D

Norway is THE place for metal. All the heavier stuff come from them like Gorgoroth.
