Hey kids

Since this is the first and probably the one and only we are trying to figure this puppy out as we continue to plan. Here are some general hints and a few no no's

No No's

Flash Photography. Distracting, and ruins the vibe. We will have a professionsal phtographer there and probably a little photo booth with either a little horsie or a stack of amps.

Video. Video cameras will not be allowed. We will have a professional crew and we will have signed releases from the artists giving them right of approval.

Imagine a relaxed casual yet informative day at the factory, and then imagine non stop flashes people pushing and jockeying for position, picture the artist answering questions to really nice forumites in a relaxed setting, or picture the artist being confronted with 100 video cameras. You will get more candor and information if they know they wont be broadcast on talk bass or hc the next day.

THe funny thing is if you are so focused on the video you will absolutely miss something. IN the old days we got to soak it in and let our memory enhance the experience

Tips from BP

Alcholol

As many of you can clearly gleen I like a few pops as much as the other guy. OnFriday nights party you will get two mixed drink tickets and unlimited draft beer and wine. I dont care what happens in the hotels afterwards, but try not to be "that drunk guy" THis is the only reason why Im am limiting mixed drinks.\

Artists

BE relaxed patient and dont get closer that arms length. These guys have had very busy summers away from family friends and home and I have called in the favors to get them here with the promise that it would be fun for them too. They would really rather be at home. I have many celebrity friends and it amazes me how many people interrupt their dinner with the line "I dont mean to bother you, would you sign my friends so and so." Then they stand figeting and babbling cause they dont know what to say and meanwhile the pasta is cold and the dinner is ruined. If the celeb doesnt sign or says could it wait untill I m through eating the person usually gets bitchy or it ends up in the paper that the celeb is rude. .Theres also 'that drunk guy' that corners them blowing booze and greek cheese breath either telling them how great or how much they suck. Just pretend like they are one of us because they are. I have assured them that they wont be stalked hounded or tortured.

Shuttle Vans
Please be on time.

enough for now. Im not trying to bust any grooves here but there needs to be just a few basic guidelines to make this enjoyable for all.

a little photo booth with a little horsie

Will you have the little cowboy outfits available?

Everything else sounds cool and reasonable and common sense. And no matter what HE says, I never tried to kiss Todd Rundgren.

Well, that sounds nice BP. Been away for awhile, read all the posts, but no time to write or comment. It's true what BP says: I went on a holiday to Ireland 10 years ago and did nothing but filming the whole journey. In the end I missed a lot of things because I was always looking through the tiny camera lens. Looking around without camera gives way better vision :D

So, things are coming closer every day and I'm still looking really forward to this. I just have to arrange a hotel, but haven't had time yet. I'll better start working on it.

Thank you BP for making this happen, it's great.

Cheers, Tom.

Completely cool!

Never been a celebrity hound myself. They're real people too, they just have way cooler jobs than mine! :p

Sounds good to me BP. I consider this whole event a gift to us - and I plan to treat it as such!

Being the token "limey" at the Open House can someone explain to me what a "Mixed drink" is?

I'll probably stick to beer anyway :)

On a slightly different topic - people have been asking whether the "official" video of the event might be available to us forumites. If BP agrees could I be so bold as to suggest that anyone who wants copy pays a) duplication/media/postage/BP holiday fund costs and b) makes a big PHAT contribution to the CLB foundation.

Once again I just want to say a BIG THANKS to BP and the EBMM crew for doing this - I really know of no other company (in any field not just music) who would have put on such an event.

Dave a "mixed drink" is a generic term for spirits. Like rum and coke etc

I agree with this. And I have read the rules. So, just to be clear, there are no cameras allowed....is that correct? Because it looks like no flash photography, but many would take pics without flash.

Not trying to be stupid, just want to be clear on the rules. Thanks Big Poppa.

cameras ok just no flash and for those of you who are bringing cameras try to be invisible if at all possible

BP, given that this will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for most of us, it's going to be hard to resist taking pics. Can you give us some idea of what the pro photographers will be doing? Besides the booth, will they be willing to take pics shaking hands, getting signatures, etc? Could we get copies of the pics? I'm thinking that if the pros are going to cover the event for us, maybe I'll just leave my camera at home to avoid the temptation...

Hmmmm....I just realized that I'm assuming there will be time for shaking hands and getting signatures - but I don't see any time for that in the agenda. Is it planned?

Knees...

Don't waste a moment worrying about us guys worying about you worrying about us... (I play this game with my little guy - can go on forever!) ;)

Personally, I'm traveling light... No camera, no stuff to have signed, no "autograph book".

Just me happy to be "invited" - I suspect there are plenty of the same mind. :)

Hmmm...Knuckles.....is that me? If so, I like it....it kinda describes my guitar playing.

Ok. I re-read my posts, and they did sound a bit desparate, didn't they. Sorry. I'll relax. I guess I am really looking forward to this. I'll be good Pop, I promise! :D

adelucia, I have no intentions of being as childish as my posts sound. I just thought it would be cool to have JP sign my JP....that's all. :p

All in all, I think what BP is doing for us is great, and I too am just happy to be invited.
