Interesting.

The most noteworthy thing for me, however, was to see the Fender awning with the names of all of those other companies on it that they have taken over and, IMO, ruined.

Oh well, I'll take an AL please, for my collection and be done, thanks.

But i think Charvel still has pretty good quality now . And its maple neck has the slightly same touch as EMBBs'

Yeah but $2000+ for a Bits-a-caster

it would have to make the coffee and clean the house for that kind of money!

Our local store got the Charvel model in last week. A black with yellow stripes. Tried it briefly but seriously underwhelmed to be honest. The neck is a nice enough shape (feels more Wolfgang than Axis or EVH) but it's completely unfinished. No wax or oiling at all. It literally feels like a sanded plank. Downside? The dirt on the fingerboard was already building up after only a few people had played it. A major, major flaw I noted was that the little spring for the D-Tuna was actually cutting into the laquer when the D Tuna was pushed in with the trem set up against the body. Give it enough time and I suspect the laquer will start to crack at that point!!! Seriously unimpressive for such a high priced axe. The Charvel was sitting next to a stunningly beuatiful quilt topped Tyler.....both cost the same!

Is that the new generation of the "keytar" ?

That pic of Michael Angelo Batio's double guitar is great
Nope, it's those new musical beltbuckles I've been hearing all about. Can't wait to see the tuning bra along with the underpants that have a pickup in the rear.

I'm wondering why the first picture has Summer Session on it. I don't think these are current NAMM photos. On the EVH topic though, I see that someone of Fleabay is selling a Jim Dunlop/MXR laminate with the new EVH Unchained Flanger pedal. Striped up Black and White. Kinda neat looking. It would look good next to the EVH Phase 90 on a pedalboard. Check it out here...

Hmmm, let's say I've got some cash to spend... would I buy the $1000 EVH that sells for $2000+ due to some suits at Fender who feel people will pay it, or do I buy the Tyler that is probably worth every penny of its asking price? :D

One day I will have a Tyler... but I have to get my Luke first. ;)

If there were no demand, the price wouldn't be so high, right?

Maybe, but if the price were lower, wouldn't the demand increase? (it would for me!) If they are available and sitting on store shelves, seems the demand might not be as expected at that price.

I have played one and I thought it played great and felt like a brick sh!t house. The thing was a tank - in a good way. BUT, it has limited capabilites tone wise and is VERY pricey for a bolt-on with one pick up and no tone control, IMO. Needs just the right buyer at it's current price. Honestly, I'd buy an Axis (or 2) instead of one of those any day.

I've had a bad day so I'm going to actually give my complete opinion on that evh charvel. first, I absolutely agree that the demand would be even higher if the price was lower, and second, the evh charvel is one of the most overpriced gimicks I've seen the guitar industry belch out in a decade (with the possible exception of the washburn USA dimebag darrell guitar). There is nothing to it! no real features, the pickup is no better than what you could install on your own, and the neck is totally, wholly uninspiring. I'd totally take the axis in a second. this is proof that people will buy ANYTHING if there's a big enough name on it. I've played the new "kramer" 1984 - or whatever it's called, and aside from fit and finish: it's the same guitar as the charvender evh.

if it was $800 or $900... maybe I'd feel a little less violently toward it... "ooohh... red, white and black stripes! how cute..." for for the kind of cheese fender thinks this thing is worth you should get A LOT more that what they're offering.

honestly, comparing this thing to an Axis is like comparing a land rover defender to a ford escort - or focus or whatever they call them now. If I was really going to make a comparison to MM's current lineup (honestly... without being a smarta$$) I'd liken it to the sub 1. and I'd rather have the sub 1.
