"The more I play this bass, the more I like it."

Swiss Army Knife, indeed.

I'd like to try a Big Al but there aren't many of them around where I live. Haven't even had the chance to try a Bongo yet.

My son has a Big Al. He loves it. He plays it in the middle school jazz band.

He also takes lessons at a music store. His bass teacher liked it so much that he sold his custom bass from a boutique builder to buy himself a Big Al...he said it was the first time a student's instrument influenced him to buy one. He's a Berklee grad, so I'm sure he's seen his fair share of nice equipment. Your Swiss Army Knife analogy is pretty accurate - he told me the Big Al covers all the tones he is looking for.

Now, I want to get an Albert Lee...

I don't know guys how things are going on across the Atlantic, but over here at the Balkans (SE Europe) we have one joke about the drummers:

"Drummers are musicians best friends!"

The drummer in my band comes round my place sometimes - I always know it's him because the knocking on the door speeds up...........

And just look how they gate crash your photo, in a sweet fretless moment.....in a drummer sort of way!!
