so i found an amazing luthier/guitar guy.

he has fixed all my friends gibson issues. has made guitars for sting and bruce.

now, i need to take my stingray in for a re wiring, in put jack(if eb sends it on time) and for a new nut and set up.

so while its there, i figure hey, maybe i could look into getting the finished like the rest of the bass, or i should say, like everyother guitar has.

mainly so i dont have to adjust it every day.

what do you guys think?

if you are seriously having to adjust your neck every day, you'd be a fool to have it finished by anyone, send it back to EB, there's probably a problem. I think most of us here can vouch for the fact that the necks are fairly solid and don't need THAT regular of service.

but maybe i'm crazy.

The neck on my SR is rock solid. I haven't needed to adjust it since April when I changed string gauge. Humidity was around 50-60% at the time, it's averaging 80-90% at the moment. No change in relief.

and those of us who DON'T live on the bottom of the ocean....

maybe i'm crazy but that humidity seems really high, but i guess it happens.

I should add, that you really should only need to adjust it very much after a drastic change (string guage, different climate, etc.)

What, the 80-90%? Yup it's not that nice right now... but then, it's 77% right now in Seattle (near you?)

Well, after much discussion over what could be causing the output jacks to go bad...only to find that it was because you were actually STEPPING on the cables, I think I'm waiting to offer any advice until I find out more information.

The neck on the SR is finished, despite what may have been said about it. I think you should just learn how to care for your bass. Search the forums and read the FAQs on the EBMM website. Once you learn how to do a setup on your own instrument, you won't have to fork over cash to get it done by some other guy and you'll gain good info. about the workings of your bass guitar.

when i mean finished i mean like a fender neck would be.

i dont have to adjust everyday, but like once a week.

i does change alot in temprature, but it may be a faulty neck, i just dont have time to be sending **** like that back, when its my main gigging bass.

i usually do set ups myself. and by adjusting the neck, it sometimes needs a tiny tiny turn.

My Fender necks move more often than my SR 5 neck does. I would check the bolts holding the neck on probably all that jumping around you have loosend the neck bolts. That finish on a Fender neck doesn't hold it is place during weather changes IMHO.
