Hi everyone! I'll be visiting the USA on holiday in two weeks doing a two week driving tour around California, Nevada and Utah (visiting the typical tourist spots with my girlfriend). It's a pre-planned tour so unfortunately will not be able to visit SLO for the factory tour (next time!)

Seeing as the prices for EB basses in America vs. here in the UK make a new bass purchase very attractive, and the fact I've never even found a Sterling or Bongo to play here in England, I was hoping someone might be able to direct me to a decent (price and salesman-wise) sales establishment I might visit while spending my last 3 days of the tour in San Francisco (Fisherman's Wharf area to be exact).

The girlfriend doesn't know it yet, but the possibility of bringing back a new bass as part of my return luggage allowance sounds like a good plan to me! Any help with preferred EB bass retailers in my general vicinity would be greatly appreciated.

:D

Don't you get slapped with all the taxes etc that push up the price when you return to th eUK?

Idea: You leave the UK with a pine wood mock-up of a MusicMan, made to look reasonably good. Tell UK authorities you're going to get a custom paint job from those weird folks in California USA. When you buy your new ax, be sure the shop also fabricates an additional receipt for a modest sum for a "custom paint" job. Leave the pine mock-up with the shop. They'll sell it to some club for $20 as a wall-hanger.

Visit this site: www.fatdawg.com

The real shop in the San Francisco area.

Check the website and then tell us you're going 10,000km to San Francisco, but you're just NOT going a few more to visit the Fatdawg?

LOL...Fatdawg's shop is cool but he has a lot of junk in there IMO and all of his instruments are hanging so close to each other that they're all dinged up. I went in there one day with $1,000 cash burning a hole in my pocket and walked out with it still there.
