Anything new and exciting in the EBMM world?? I ask because I was talking to my wife last night and saying - if EBMM made a stop tail JP6...maybe a floyd (down only) silo or ...maybe axis...heck put it on the JP6... and put an extra spring like on my Wolf so it's strong enough that I can bend without detuning neighboring strings, and then something close to a fat strat - I could toss my other guitars.

I flat out love playing my JP - the neck...fretboard... But don't want another floating trem. I need another guitar - but don't know what to get - and to be honest...nothing is measuring up..to the feel I get from the JP. Any thoughts...

There's my wishlist :D Did any of it make sense?

Why don't you just block the trem?

I don't have a Pet, but if the trem is like any other, just tape a block of wood, plastic, etc in the cavity route on the underside of the trem block (the side facing the springs). That will hold it in place so it detunes only. Presto.

I do this with my Floyd equiped guitars as I don't like them floating and it works like a charm. Alternately there's the "tremel-no", but that hasn't hit the streets just yet.

So then you can just get another Pet :D

Alternately I vote for a Y2D or the Anniversary Silo.

Eightman.....do a search on treme-nol.....OC has really been keeping us informed about this wonderful product that will make the JP act like a hardtail and it will do what beej is talking about if I am correct.

Other than that, I think you really need a 20th Anniv Silo or Y2D. Reason, for each:

20th - because it looks simply AWESOME

Y2D - I play strictly JP's, but had my hands on a Y2D at the Open House and it was simply wonderful and I could easily play a JP for hours, pick up the Y2D and play it for hours. The feel was great!

My 2 pennies. :D

Hey folks. I'll check that out. I like the idea of blocking the trem to a down onlly. I don't think my ears would pick up tonal changes - of course I'd have to get the shim just right so I don't screw with the intonation - that I would hear...everytime. (and still do). If I get another JP (and I have a line on one for a good price) - I'll be swapping the pups this time anyway.

I think I have this mental hangup about trem-nos - because..if I paid for the trem..keep it. Just a mental glitch...I know - but aesthetically ...it just seems to not be my first choice. Like I said previously - wouldn't mind seeing a tune-omatic bridge on one. I also would buy one with a down only floyd...

I'm going to check out the Silo - and see what it looks lke.

Edit: As I recall one of the things I wasn't digging about the Silo was the 10" radius... but I have yet to actually get my hands on one.

ahem. that's tremol-no.

Eightman...hang ups about the tremol-no? That's ridiculous! It doesn't change the feel of the trem...it allows drop only, full float including flutter, and fixed bridge operation at a twist of a thummbscrew. Plus no permanent mods (ie. drilling and such).

I definitely plan on picking up a Tremel-No for my JP. I've been playing some different brands of guitars lately too, and I'm having the same problem. When I play something other than an EBMM, it just doesn't measure up in feel and sound. My JP is spoiling me.

Hmmm...certainly wouldn't want to be accused of being ridiculous!! [Well...at least not again...] Are they even available yet? I see that a bunch of artists have them - but no links for purchase?

I'll get the Tremel-no as soon as I can find 'em!

But in the meantime, try the blocking solution. Dead simple to do. Sometimes a block of wood works. I've used plastic rulers covered with tape to get the right width, etc. Whatever you have lying around. Takes ya 10 minutes and won't cost a cent.
