I recorded a quick tone test w/ the push/pull I just had installed on my JP6:

Nevermind my playing! Just listen to the tones! :D

I don't see why not. Those switches are independent circuits to a degree. The three way up top merely blends the two. You still have a hot coming off the mags and the piezo which are the two signals that get mixed.

Hmm... Can I do that despite having the Piezo preamp in there too?

Yep, the piezo circuit is separate from the mags so you can definitely do that! That would make for one versatile guitar!

I have the wiring diagram my tech made (from an existing diagram) if anyone wants to see how it's done!

I played a bit more with my new tones last night and on my lunch break today, and i'm still in awe at how great these pickups sound when split! I can't recommend this mod enough! It extends the JP's tonal palette even further. I can only imagine how much better this would sound with a piezo. Alas I opted for no piezo for simplicity's sake......... the BFR should take care of that though...

I forget, how did you get this wired? Something I can do on my own? Or estimated cost with a luthier?

Sure - My tech installed a DiMarzio Pro Parts 500k push/pull pot with part # EP1201PP . I believe AllParts sells a similar push/pull pot but I don't know the part # for that one...
