Speaking of saddles...

I'd like to know more about MM saddles. Is it safe to say that the vintage saddles are chromed or nickel steel and the block saddles are cast?

Candid, that's how I see them. My personal preference are the solid ones.

I prefer the solid saddles myself. Much fuller and heavier sounding. I thought the solid saddles were stainless steel? Or those might only be on the piezo models I think. Either way, they are much more comfortable and sound better to me.

I like how they both sound. But the bent style hurt my hands, probably due to my poor technique

So another vote for solid.

Well, my white silo spec has the bent saddles. The guyitar already sounds thick and full with those... I can't see how much more I can help the tone by going solid. I actually want something less thick and brighter... Maybe I should try those KTS titanium saddles huh? I wonder if they'll fit?

That's also what I'm curious about. Stainless, cast? I've had only the vintage on 3 balls. I like them a lot, once I got the three adjustment screw lengths sorted properly. Was rough on the paw before that. But that's true of all vintage style saddles, need to remove those sharp thingies.

Huh, good question. Are they steel, zinc, etc.? No idea.

There is certainly a tonal difference between the block style and the vintage ones. I much prefer the vintage- more "zing" to them. I think I've removed all of the ones I had that were solid in favour of the vintage.

On the adjustment screws- you can order a variety of sizes from MM if you can't find them locally, so you get ones that don't protrude from the saddle once adjusted.

Yup, CS sent me a few in three different sizes.
