Question Split tone on newer JPs with Illuminators

Hi all,

I've been thinking of installing a push/push or push/pull switch in my 2008 JP6 (recently upgraded to Illuminator pickups with amazing results!) to split the humbuckers for single coil sounds.

What are your experiences with the Illuminators in split mode?

After a lot of testing I switched to the illuminator in the bridge and later also in the neck position. It was the right choice, the guitar sounds a lot more balanced and much tighter, as well as being more dynamic and sitting better in a mix.
Highly recommended and also a good investment, in other words you get a lot for what you paid compared to other pickup brands.
The main differences are clarity, a more open tone and less compression. EQ-wise, they sound like high-powered PAF-style pickups to me which I like a lot.
