Hi all,

I just got my new JP15 today and she is a beauty! I've got 2 TS cable hooked up, 1 to my PA and another to my signal chain/amp (distortion). The clean sound, with no effects added, just blew my mind. No noise either, so not even sure I care about using a DI box.

My quick questions..

1) The more I think about it, the less I see a need for 2 outputs. The more ideal setup would be a stereo cable to an A/B splitter, correct? Switching with my foot seems like a lot less to have to worry about with my hands. Why didn't EB just put 1 output on the JP line and advise to use a stereo cable? Does anyone here actually utilize both outputs on the guitar?

2) I assume this box would suffice? ABY Box Pedals - Loop-Master Pedals - - ABY Pedal (LED Version)
It's about the least expensive ABY pedal around and while I don't typically find that to be advantageous, it seems like it's a really solid, well-built pedal, with the low price point being an added bonus. I've never used an ABY pedal, so just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something before ordering.

Thanks!

Splitting the piezo and magnetic signals on a piezo JP creates a wall of sonic heaven!

1) The Majesty models use one jack that can be user set to stereo or mono. The other models in the JP lineup will default to "magnetic only" if plugging a mono cable in the stereo jack, or when using the mono jack you can get a combined signal on a single mono cable. It's an entirely different preamp/electronics setup than the Majesty.

2) If the ABY has the ability to accept a stereo input and separate the tip/ring into different mono outputs then yes it would work. If not, then you would need a box with a different design.

When Ernie Ball discontinued their splitter boxes designs we tooled up a few of our own, in various configurations. Durable aluminum housing, switchcraft jacks, etc (in stock through our webstore)

Thanks, guys. It looks like the one I listed doesn't do stereo in so not an option. And yes, Pete... the "wall of sonic heaven" is a perfect description! My gosh.. I can't stop playing tonight. I love combining the two.. and that's why I'm asking. I definitely want to use this when playing out. I looked at your pedals but I am wanting to avoid messing with the switch on the guitar and just stomping to change/combine the piezo and mags.

Lou, the startouch looks like it may be just what I'm needing. I'm definitely leaning towards grabbing it.. I'll do a little more looking first. My only hesitation is in my wife giving me the raised eyebrow for needing just a few more things after talking her into a $3000 guitar. :) I might need to start having items delivered to my work address.
