Spotted a Morse on CL for $500 but something seems weird here...

Somebody on the Duncan board spotted this Morse Y2D Floyd on Craigslist in the Bay Area... for $500.

Something doesn't seem right with this... very vague/almost nonexistent ad description, guitar could easily fetch #x that much, and a broken string - anyone that owns a guitar like this would know better.

Has anyone here reported a Y2D like this stolen recently?

If this is a legit sale, and/or someone on here is selling it, I apologize, but you've got a few eyebrows raised in your direction. If someone stole my EBMM I'd want the community's help. I'd rather err on the side of caution here.

Tough one. If it is stolen, there is only so much we can do to confirm it. Perhaps call some of the guitar stores around there and see if anybody told them to keep an eye out for it.

I wrote to him last night, got a reply that the guitar is for sale, cash only. Nothing indicating any foul play, perhaps the owner is in dire need of fast cash for an emergency, etc. It's too bad that I don't live on the West coast.

Even if it was an emergency, you could put it for sale here for much more and get it. I said it was fishy on the Duncan board and still think it is. Besides, getting a guitar that a) might be stolen or b) is sold only on pure desperation isn't 'a great deal'. It is bad juju.
