On a recent business trip I had some time to myself and was walking through, I think Sears. There was a collection of other artist's guitars also. From what I remember it was a celebration of rock music...
cool. Always loved Elliot Easton's solos - they're the catchiest/best composed I've ever heard in pop music. Adding to his legend in the 80s was the rumor that he was self taught and couldn't read music, but fact is he graduated from Berklee in 1974...same class as Al DiMeola.
How wonderfully and haphazardly brilliant to find something like that in a mall in Dubai!!! Candy-O and Heartbeat City are, to this day, some of my favourite pop albums... especially Heartbeat City was quite the soundtrack to my twisted version of the '80's. Moreover, it was one of the decidedly few of my albums that my dad would play in our car (copied onto a green BASF cassette tape, obviously).
