It seems to me that if your at a concert/fair or whatever, spotting an EBMM isn't too hard. That headstock is easy to spot especially with the 4/2 config. To go a level further, spotting an Albert Lee is truly the easiest. I love being in the club. The shape is a dead give away and tells people you're not one of the F/G/P lemmings.
Apparently there are alot of EBMM players because they seem to be showing up everywhere; on all tours.

Yeah I do that a lot too - Ball Hunting!!

I'm just cr4p at recognising the different Bass models - gonna have to do some revision on that unless some kind bass player wants to teach me how to differentiate between Bass Balls!!
Uh - I do know the Bongo !!!

It's strange isn't it this EB "thing" we have?
I was working in Edinburgh and was looking around the shops and spotted a DVD of a Scottish band. On the cover the bass player was playing an EB.
It was only £1 - and it sucked!!

But I would not have bought it if it wasn't for the fact that it had an EB bass on it!!

I saw one last night. Mind you, I was playing it....

Tim's right, you don't see that many (skinny strings anyway) EBMM's around in the UK.

Before I was into Music Man guitars, I saw John Mayer years and years ago, and if my memory serves me correctly, he played an Axis / ASS / EVH for a song or two (guitars which I was only vaguely aware of). I remember plain as day a) the headstock, and b) the color, it looked purple or pink or lavendar.

To this day, I've never seen a pic of JM playing and Axis of any sort, and he seems to be a Strat guy mostly. Maybe I imagined it.

Yeah I know what you mean about being able to spot them. The guitar player for the band on American Idol has a JP6, it's pretty cool watching him use it on TV. I've only seen it once so far, but that is the only reason I watch the show, just to get a glimpse ;)

That's funny! I fully admit to watching American Idol. I haven't watched much of this season and didn't notice the JP6. I have to say, I think the band is a solid group of musicians. If you think about the wide range of music they have to play, they're pretty impressive.

On terms of spotting EBMM's -- it's definitely the headstock. I jumped out of my chair watching American Chopper recently. I spotted an EBMM headstock on a guitar in the main office. I posted a note about it....and it seems several folks on this forum knew that guitar to be an OLP and not a real EBMM. It was cool anyway.

I noticed the guitarist from (of all places) Peter Gabrial's band using an EVH back in the 90's.
