Squeeks anyone?

For the first time in my playing experience, I have guitars with Floyd Rose bridges (EBMM Axis X 2), and have an interesting problem. While one of them is silent, the other has a nasty squeek in the socket where the bar is inserted. Has anyone else ever encountered this? If so, what was used to eliminate that squeek?

I had a "noise" coming fro my AL trem just the other week. My guitar is under warranty and the dealer checked it out.
We ascertained that it wasn't the springs making the noise, it wasn't binding on the scratchplate.
The dealer asked me to bring it back the next day which was no problem to me.
When I got the guitar back home I got some WD40 and with the plastic nozzle squirted a "gnats gonad full" onto the trem posts.
My problem solved - works like a dream.

In this case it is definitely the socket that the bar fits into - the bar swings loosely (which is not in itself problematic at all), and only squeeks when on the "downswing". Because the other Floyd is silent, i figured that they were basically self-lubricating, and didn't know if WD40 would help in this case. Should there be some sort of grease in there, a coating of WD40 may lead to more mess than it is worth. And besides, there is only one particular area where the bar makes its travel known. A bit odd, I would say....

I have the Musicman trem on mine and there is an allen headed grub screw only visible when you depress the trem. When I loosen it the trem arm swings.
Try a really small amount of WD 40 - literally a real small amount I can't see it harming the guitar in any way. - it was fine on mine, just as if Jongitarz himself had waved his magic wand!

Edit - use the tube on the can that way you won't "squirt all over the place"

I would use something more like 3 n 1 oil....A couple of drops and the noise goes away.

wd40 is super thin . it's made that way so it can travel in tight spots & penatrate to lube. but that means it will also travel to places u don't want the petrolium based substance to be.
3n1 is better behaved.......

Congrats on your second purchase. I knew you had one and now i realize you've purchased another. Get into rehab, cause you're addicted
