I 'm the proud owner of a brand spankin new SR-5 Natural w/ maple board. After a minor truss rod adjustment to lower the strings a tiny bit.. it's FANTASTIC!!!! no buzz., ANYWHERE!!!

and

it weighs way under 10 pounds...can't get an exact weight (crappy scale), but it's under 10, closer to 9.5...

:D

What other basses have you owned, and how do they compare to your new SR-5? I'm looking at a Sterling, but so far, no one has replied to my question. Rock On, and best of luck! bassDADDY

BassDADDY,

The only Bass that I've owned/played consistantly for comparison to my SR5 is a early 70's Fender P that I got new in '72 or '73 when I was around 14 years old. This particlular P bass is pretty much an extension of my being.... So, I guess I'm a bit spoiled.

That being said, I'm not big into the "newest thing" when it comes to the Bass.

As for the Sterlings, I hav'nt had the opportunity to handle one yet... BUT, if my SR5 is any indication of Ernie Ball quality and the Sterling feels good in your hands...GET IT!!!!!
