Ok this thread sounds silly. But i'd do anything to satisfy my craving for infomation

I'm not here to ask which bass is more versatile, or cuts thru easier yadiyadiyada...

Question: Which bass do you prefer and why so? Opinions are cool.

the Sterling is my #1 ... the neck just feels right to me. its perfect.

I have an SR4 and love that too but after playing the Sterling a lot the neck on the SR4 feels "strange" in my hands.

I might like the tone of an SR4 a bit more than i like the Sterling's (its a toss up) but the neck on the Sterling really puts it over the top for me.

love the Bongo but it doesnt look traditional enough for my taste.

The Bongo. Came down to the feel of the neck. Opposite to Phat, but no slight intended, the look helped sell me on it because it is unique. But it really came down to the neck.

Y'know, I love the Bongo, it has tones and power that's pretty surely not rivaled by any but a handful of other basses(most of which cost Much Much more the others are other MMs). However, there's something about the body that isn't quite right for rocking out. This is only my initial impression as I've only had it for a little while, it just seems like it feels Great when it's hung high, because it's shape would keep it in the same place. I however like to hang my bass low and play with an outstretched arm tony kanal style. Though, the Bongo keeps surprising me so perhaps I just haven't discovered the art of it yet.

Surprisingly enough, in all the basses I've ever played by any company in any make, I've never found a bass more comfortable to play low and fast or high and jazzy than the StingRay5. I've only got an OLP5 here at home, but I've spent a lot of time with the SR5 at my local dealer's shop(who hasn't:D) and it seems that extra string and beffiness was what I was missing with my Sterling.

SR5, ROSEWOOD! I have never heard a warmer tone! That one pickup i think makes it more dynamic than basses with more pickups, it really responds to my playing style. And the neck is just lovely, it is the only 5er that still looks lika a bass! ;)

But i have to admit that bongos seem pretty cool aswell, but in sweden it is hard to come across one to try out. And it is far too expensive to buy a MM Bass in sweden($3472)!
