I have a SR5 HH and I love it. After doing a lot of reading, I've decided on getting the GK 1001 RB II. I've read a lot on cabs and I can't make up my mind. I just don't know what is going to sound good with my bass.

One of my main concerns is how the B string will sound. I'm currently using a 1x15 combo amp and it doesn't sound great. I really want to make sure that B string sounds good but of course I want all other strings to sound great too.

My main concerns are:

1. The cab must sound good with a SR5 specifically--especially B string.

2. I don't want to lug around too much weight. I want a lightweight cab but I can't afford boutique prices.

3. What should the minimum frequency be for the speaker? 30hz? I'm not sure what a B string frequency is on an SR5.

So far I'm thinking of getting:
1. a used Eden 210 XST
2. a new or used Avatar 2112 Neo or 410 Neo
3. There's a used Ampeg SVT 210-HE cab and I see that the lower frequency on the speakers is 35Hz (I think). It's only $275--I like that price but will it be good for me?
4. I can't afford Schroeder but I'm wishing.

What do you guys think?

Definately the GK Neo series cabs. I have two Neo 212s and a Neo 115 and they are all AMAZING cabs. The 212s are 64 lbs. and the 115 is 54 lbs. The Neos will make the low B on your HH SR5 SING!!!!

Theres a number of great cabs Id say to give a chance.

With the 1001 though, Id get a GK Neo, to take advantage of the bi amp system.

hmm. It seems like a lot of people on this forum like GK neo cabs. I don't here these cabs getting any love anywhere else.

I'm just being kind of cautious because I don't want to get these and then think "I should have bought the Eden or ampeg, etc."

G.K. all the way.

i use a 1001RB-11 with a SBX115-11 and it sounds awesome-didn't cost that much either & its a compact-light-powerfull rig.

Has anyone here been able to play both the GK Neo212 and the Markbass 104HF? They both weigh 64 lbs. I just think it would be so cool to have a light 4x10 cab.

Although I have not yet found a GK Neo212, if it sounds as good as everyone says, and you already have a 1001RB, I would second the idea of going with GK to have the Biamp feature

I say pre-F*nder SWR if you can find a good one. I love the older Golliath III cabinets. I love older Eden stuff too. I purchased a new Eden 4x10 a couple of years ago and was very disappointed with the fact that the speakers were not the same as his original cabinets. The tone had a very distinct difference, not nearly as warm, more harsh. As a result, I have gone away from Eden cabinets.
